It focuses on the elusive subject of litigating the right to education by examining jurisprudence from select African countries and India. The project further analyses the various challenges that impede access to education, with the attendant lack of political will to curb corruption, and calls for the building of strong institutions and the involvement of both state and non-state actors in driving development via education. “Nothing is more important to the economic and political development of a democratic society, and especially of a developing nation, than the education of its citizenry. This book well documents this point and argues convincingly for the legislative measures and judicial interventions needed to make a quality education for all in African nations a reality. It should be read by all those involved in this effort.” (Thomas Kleven, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, USA)
“The book is a must read for students and practitioners alike.” (Wahab O Egbewole Professor of Law, University of Ilorin, Nigeria)

“Does a brilliant job of intricately weaving the intersections of law, jurisprudence and existing policy frameworks to unmask overlooked questions on education as a fundamental human right. This book will be of interest to educationist, governments, human rights lawyers, students and policymakers who are interested in understanding how multiple intersecting factors impact education in Africa.” (Josephine Jarpa Dawuni, Assistant Professor, Howard University, USA)
