This book is a collection of 16 research papers on 6 different themes. It is an outcome of an international conference organized during 26-30 November 2012 at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Te chnology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar by International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES). A plenary session was organized jointly by the editors of the book. The authors of the chapters presented their findings as research papers in this conference and after suggestions; modified versions of selected papers were included in this book. Beside, 2-3 chapters were invited from the scholars who are working on 'Human Growth and Nutrition'. In this way this book is the result of collaborative efforts of a group of scholars. The book is rich in variety of aspect of human growth, development and nutrition, wide range of papers focused on different issues among people from North-East to South and East to West on Indian continent. Surely, it would be helpful for scholars of different fields like Medical sciences, peadiatrics, human nutrition, anthropology, geography, sociology, economics, political sciences, population and tribal studies and so on. There is no such compilation having such a wide coverage from very inception to adulthood, north to south and east to west.
Dr. RK Gautam is among the pioneer Anthropologists. He joined Department of Anthropology, Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidylaya (A Central University), Sagar, Madhya Pradesh as an Assistant Professor in July 2004. He was born on October 2nd, 1970 in a village Deogaon, district Mandla of Madhaya Pradesh. He was awarded degree of Ph.D. by the University of Delhi. Recently, he was awarded Raman Post Doctoral Fellowship by UGC for the years 2015-16 for USA. His research is focused on Human growth, Human nutrition, Human genetics, population studies and tribal studies.
