Beschreibungen

"The novel captures the character of Prince Youssef Kamal, the most prominent figure in the royal family in Egypt in the previous century, and how, through the (Yusufiyya) circle, which included hundreds of clans in Upper Egypt in Nag Hammadi, he left living examples of national unity between the Muslims and Copts of Egypt." Through his intervention in solving the problems of sectarian strife among workers in the sugar factory in Nag Hammadi, in addition to his donation of huge sums of money to participate in the development of the Egyptian country, especially in the field of education, and his participation in the 1935 revolution against the monarchy to which he belonged, and how the 1952 revolution overwhelmed him and stripped him. Of his properties, palaces and clays, the novel revolves around the love story that took place in Nag Hammadi between the Orthodox Christian girl (Batoul) and the Catholic Christian young man (Aram). He belongs to a Greek family that suffered from the scourge of human genocide by the Ottoman Sultan at the time, and his father fled to Egypt. After his child (Aram) escaped the massacre that befell his daughters and wife, Youssef Pasha later took him in to take care of the financial matters in his department, but the church, the Coptic elders, and the girl's father rejected this love because the Catholic faith was different from the Orthodox one, and (Aram) was accused of killing the famous Nag doctor (Dr. Alphonse Samaha), and Youssef Pasha intervened in the matter, but the girl fled with (Aram) to Alexandria and they formed a family, entered the business field, and became one of the most famous businessmen in Egypt, and his son (Imad) inherited the path and joined the ruling party in the Mubarak era, and lurked. The novel is about the corruption of Mubarak's rule and the control of businessmen over the regime, compared to the era of Nasser and Sadat, and the regime's struggle with the Islamic movement, and when the atmosphere indicates the harbinger of a revolution in Egypt, the young people find nothing but the history of Youssef Pasha Kamal and his struggle to emulate his positions, so the Christian girl raises a granddaughter ( Aram), which was opposed to its authoritarian father, formed a national movement called (the Kemalist movement) with the participation of the young Muslim Ali Imam, to be the beginning of the revolution against the Mubarak regime and the Islamic current regime later on. At the end of the novel, it predicts the emergence of a new revolution for Egyptians whose effects may extend beyond the ocean to reach the Western world as well.
