In this book, the author presents a deep analysis of Karl Marx's theory of property, embodying it in the image of three cities that reflect the mirror of the human soul: the city of money, the city of science, and the city of religion. Through his wanderings in the corridors of these cities, the writer shows how the city of money lacks human happiness despite its elegant appearances, while the city of science bears simplicity in appearance and greatness in essence. As for the city of religion, it uses money and knowledge for its own purposes under the guise of asceticism and mysticism. This book presents a deep philosophical vision of the intersection of human values ​​with the concepts of money, science, and religion, stressing that altruism is what sustains these cities while selfishness and the desire to break away from restrictions destroy them.

فرح أنطون: صحافي وروائي ومسرحي وكاتب سياسي واجتماعي، ورائد من رواد حركة التنوير في العالم العربي أواخر القرن التاسع عشر وأوائل القرن العشرين، اشتهر بدعوته للتسامح الديني بين المسلمين والمسيحيين وكان اشتراكي التوجه، تأثر بأفكار المصلحين الأوروبيين مثل روسو وفولتير ورنيان ومونتسكيو، وكذلك بفلاسفة عرب ومسلمين كابن رشد وابن طفيل والغزالي وعمر الخيام. وُلد في طرابلس الشام عام 1874، والتحق بالمدرسة الابتدائية الأرثوذكسية ثم بمعهد كفتين حيث أتقن الفرنسية وتخرج منه عام 1890. هاجر إلى الإسكندرية عام 1897 وبدأ نشاطه الفكري والثقافي، وأصدر مجلات مثل «الجامعة» و«السيدات» التي أصدرها لأخته روز أنطون. كتاباته تعكس مفارقة فكرية إذ آمن بالتيار الإنساني الغربي الذي يرفض التمييز، ولكنه سعى لنشر النظريات الغربية في الشرق العربي باعتبارها حيادية، مما أثار تحفظات البعض. كان لأنطون إنتاج فكري غزير في الأدب والسياسة والاجتماع والفلسفة والمسرح والرواية، وتوفي في القاهرة عام 1922.
