“David Bowie was a mosaic of contradictions, and Everyone Says Hi captures multiple facets of his glittering stardom through those who continue to idolise him. Toija Cinque and Sean Redmond rigorously examine Bowie’s impact on diverse lives, including their own. The result is a fascinating, honest and often moving collection of stories .” (Will Brooker, Professor of Film and Cultural Studies, Kingston University, UK and author of Forever Stardust)
“The Fandom of David Bowie: Everybody Says ‘Hi’ sweeps away hackneyed stereotypes, replacing them with a series of cogent explanations which demonstrate how Bowie fans continually use the object of their fascination as a personal resource, a figure who helps them live their lives. In my research field, I think we will be talking about Cinque and Redmond’s insights for years to come.” (Dr Mark Duffett, author of Understanding Fandom)
